Here is a picture of the "newlyweds" with their quilt, only 16 months after actually getting married.

Oh, my goodness, Cyndie! That is fabulous!!!!!!! I took a class on paper-piecing a Mariner's Compass, but got so overwhelmed that I never finished it. I admire and LOVE your quilt top.

What a fantastic quilt... I'll bet you're thrilled to bits with it, and so are they by the looks of it!

I have left the "top" border off on occasions too.... and have plans to do it again. The first time was purely to make a quilt longer than it was wide, and once I'd done it I thought it actually gave it direction, it made it clear which was up and which was the bottom end.
