I'd really love to have your opinions on the log cabin block layout and the fabric choices around the compass please.

Either the first one or the last one. They flow best with the silhouette of the compass, IMHO.

The first and last are my favorites . But all are very nice ! :lol:

I vote Fourth. Seems to frame it up and make the compass special. Hubby (untrained eye) likes the first one.

I really like the second one. I think it makes it look 3D. I like the way the compass really jumps out at you.

I like the first one best .... sets the mariners compass off just right.

the first one really frames the compass and sets it off as the focal point. Some applique vines and leaves would be gorgeous in the tan areas.

My votes is for number 2. It absolutely pops, and looks so 3 dimensional, and then my next choice is number 4 :)

IMHO I would go with #4. I like the extra space around the compass. #1 is nice but I lose the compass a bit in the blue.

I like all of them but #4 is my choice.

number 4 is my choice..i had to look twice when i first looked at them as it looked like your mariners compass was on a wooden parquetry floor but then i realised it was fabric..

Love #1 the best but #4 would be my 2nd choice. Beautiful quilt.

Beautiful compass block and log cabin is one of my faves. I like the 4th layout...doesn't seem to crowd the compass block as much, but frames it nicely.

i would vote #2 or #4 - i like the large open space around the compass - really helps it to stand out, otherwise it kinda gets lost.

Of them all, though, I think I would go for #4...or maybe #2?? I don't know!!! They are both so gorgeous!

Like #4. With #1, I would add a row at the bottom to make all the blue diamonds complete(just thinking out loud). I really like the mariners compass and have 3 mini's. Thanks for sharing.
