Wonderful, wonderful, Can't imagine undertaking something like that. What a treasure. Rufus is perfect in real life and as a quilt.

That dog certainly has personality! You did a fabulous job of creating a great likeness of him. And your quilting is super. I can understand the difficulty of stitching black on black, but you did very well. What a treat for your daughter.

Fantastic! This does not look like a first attempt at this skill so, obviously, you are gifted in this art form. Very cool and she's gonna love it..
|
Your daughter will be thrilled! It's adorable, and so is the real Rufus.
|
You did a fabulous job! The eyes look like they would be difficult to master, but you nailed it. Rufus looks adorable with his 1 ear up. :) The checkerboard border added interest to the black background. Your quilting designs are great. I like the bit of sheen from the tulle. Your daughter will be in awe. (don't forget the label for your work of heart)

Rufus is a cutie! And you have really captured his expression. Well done!

Wonderful quilt. Everything about it makes a great back story for your quilt. I know it will be loved.

I beautiful job with Rufus. He looks so real. You cannot even see the tuile. I have used it also and you cannot even see it. Your daughter should be very overjoyed with it. Lucky girl.

First of all, I just want to say that you did an amazing job of capturing Rufus in this fabric collage ... I am truly awestruck! May I ask where you learned this collage technique? A class? A book? I ask because I would like to try my hand at it. Regarding the tulle overlay:Karen Eckmeier uses a tulle overlay for her Happy Villages technique. In the workshop I took from her, she encouraged students to audition several different colors of tulle in order to find just the right one. Just a suggestion for your next collage.

You did an amazing job!

Rufus came out marvelous! I made one dog picture quilt but yours is way better than mine. Thanks for sharing your issues with the dark green tulle.

Rufus looks like he could jump off of the quilt. What a great job!
