finished this tonight it will be a large pillow as I am not fond of wall hangings... it is done in satins[/QUOTE] this is gorgeous & luxurious looking. love the look of satins used in anything quilted. and this is one of my favorite blocks. i'm not a fan of wall hangings either, but less fond of pillows kitties insist are their beds :o. very little wall space in my house, but still make quilts to rotate across them :) |
That is beautiful.

Fantastic! Was it difficult to work with the satin? I love the sheen of the fabric. It makes the piece glow.

very nicely done
Love your pillow! It glows.
So different and lovely!
Lovely!!!!
That is beautiful. Nice job.
very, very nice
Fantastic job!
It looks so luxurious! It is a beautiful marriage of fabric and pattern. It looks as if it was paper pieced. Was the satin hard to work with?
Whoa...this is beautiful. The Mexican star pattern has been a favorite of mine for a long time. To see it done the way you have created it, well, it leaves me wanting to beg you to send it to me!!Thank you for sharing this beauty.
WOW that is beautiful and I am sure it was not easy to work with the satin fabric, great job.
Really nice!!
So very pretty!
very pretty!!!!
Love this! Beautiful satin and colors!
I love your background colour, it just makes everything so rich looking. That is going to be one large pillow, unless you adjusted the actual pattern down a little?
Beautiful! That must have been a challenge in satins. Nicely done.
Very pretty pattern and beautiful job. Thanks for sharing...I hadn't seem this pattern before, and like it.
Kudos to you as I know satins are not the nicest to work with. Slippery as all get out and very difficult to keep aligned while sewing. It looks like you all out pieced this instead of the original folded/semi cathedral window technique of the original Mexican Star pattern.
Love the way silk shines. The fabric choices are great. Job well done.
love the way it looks in satins. that's going to make a beautiful pillow
That is so beautiful, I love the colors. You did a very good job.
Lovely! I can hardly stop looking at it. You did very nice work on it.
Love the way your fabrics and colors "shimmer" ... Excellent workmanship.
It is beautiful!!! Love the satin but it would get ruined in my home!!
Brilliantly done.
thank you everyone for the compliments...satin was a bugger won't be doing that again too soon..lol..I made the pattern the original size so the pillow will be large but it was a class project and had no idea what to do with it..
Oh, my gosh! Sewing on slippery, slide-y satin would do me in! You mastered it beautifully! WOW! This is a beauty!
I love the pattern.
Stunning,very nice!!!!!
I love the satin fabric. You've got a beautiful piece of work there.
Great pattern, colors, and interesting in the satins!
Are you going to quilt this? I would love to see it finished! Beautiful.
Love the silk shine.
