Great job and wonderful fabric choices. I've wondered about those side pockets too. Not sure what I would put in them, but I do think they add to the overall design.

So far, I only know this tote from pictures, but I'm imagining that the side pocket would be ideal for a water bottle or an umbrella?

I find the outside - side pockets a very user friendly option on a bag - I make lots of bags....
Great for keys, phone, sunglasses or regular glasses, or a water bottle too.
This is the first pattern I've done that has used elastic to make them expandable, so we'll see how the elastic stands up to use.
The fabric choices were deliberate departure for my usual more "cutesy" type of fabric, as I wanted this to be a more serious/professional one.
Thanks for the compliments.
For anyone considering but afraid to attempt this - the directions and pictures are really very good, and taking a step by step approach leads to success.

I love the big Professional tote and have been considering the smaller version. I might use the cords on the end pockets like on the big ones. I agree that the elastic may stretch out. Maybe just skip that center pocket? I'm going to have to shop for another pattern it looks like. LOL.

I love it and the fabrics you used. Like all patterns, once I make something from a pattern, I find ways to change it, just like using recipes. But your tote is beautiful and professional looking.
