Misty Pines Quilt - Stonehenge Woodlands Fabric

3 Attachment(s)
I saw this quilt in the January 2013 McCalls Quilting and it was calling my name! Made with Stonehenge Woodlands Fabrics, I did order their kit as we don't have a LQS that carries Stonehenge and I didn't think I could figure it out online! Quilted with pinecones and pine needles, still need to put the binding on it but wanted to share it! Thanks for looking!

Fantastic quilt and quilting!

omaluvs2quilt 02-24-2013 10:31 AM

It turned out AWESOME! I bought the kit also, and a bunch of extra fabric to go with it...can't wait to get started, but I have one more I need to finish before college graduation in May. I'll be using the same fabric line with the Stonehenge "Renaissance" panel as the starting point. I was at my mom's the other day playing with EQ7 and she fell in love with them too...I guess great minds think alike : )

omaluvs2quilt 02-24-2013 10:32 AM

How long did it take you to piece it?

Thanks everyone. Oma - I worked off and on on this in the evenings after work and some weekends for about 3 weeks or so. It actually was pretty easy, and quick, once I correctly identified all the fabrics and kept them separated during the block construction. The most confusing part was ensuring I had all the fabric combinations correct for each block and each type of block. I did end up taping a swatch of each onto a sheet of paper numbered accordingly so I could keep it straight lol. It was great fun with this fabric!

WMUTeach 02-25-2013 06:20 AM

Oh, how lovely! Today was a foggy day in my home town and this is what the pines looked like this morning. They were all frosted with the fog moisture and it is an amazing tempering of the colors! Thanks for picturing what God makes for us on cold winter and foggy days.

richardswife 02-25-2013 06:57 AM

Thank you so much for posting as I was just considering ordering some stonehedge fabrics of the same colors and your beautiful quilt has convinced me to do it today. Just hope I can do as good a job with it that you have.

quiltstringz 02-25-2013 07:21 AM

That is beautiful - I just recently saw a quilt in a magazine done in Stonehedge in blues and have been resisting so far. With the right patterns their fabrics are wonderful.

Robbi5 02-25-2013 07:51 AM

I was drooling over this quilt when I saw it in the magazine.....very nicely done!

gramquilter2 02-25-2013 08:33 AM
