I agree with everyone. It's beautiful! Your quilting is perfect.

catmcclure 09-13-2012 06:41 AM

When I first looked at it I thought it was a Giant Dahlia. Gorgeous quilt.

dglvr 09-13-2012 07:08 AM

I love modern quilts and especially like your choice of fabrics! Do you know who made that line of fabric?

These fabrics are from Joel Dewberry, mostly from his Ginseng line. These are actually home decor-weight, a little heavier than quilt-weight cottons, but I liked working with them.

The quilting creates an optical illusion that is extremely creative. It's perfect!! Right down to the perfectly mitered border! Seriously COOL!!!

Wow, Zazulka - and all of you - thanks for your comments and feedback! I've been away from the computer for a couple of days, and your responses are making me giddy. I'll try not to get a "swolled head" from all your comments, soo COOL! THANK YOU!

I agree that it needs to be in a quilt show for others to see. I would like to know how you got the idea to quilt with the spinograph design. That was a stroke of genius.

QM 09-13-2012 09:59 AM

Very nicely done.

gramquilter2 09-13-2012 10:07 AM

Beautiful quilt-love the colors. It is amazing how you put the colors/prints together, quilted it and you can see a Dahlia or a Dresden. Love it.

destindeb 09-13-2012 11:20 AM

That is beautiful. Your quilting really make all the difference. I think the spiral design really gives it a modern fresh look. Can you imagine a whole quilt made like this?...Wow!

That is one awesome quilt.

BETTY62 09-13-2012 08:34 PM

That is awesome. I love the pattern and the fabric. Till now, I really didn't care for the dresden plate pattern. Your make-over has forever changed my opinion of it.

JenDale 09-13-2012 08:40 PM

JBeamer 09-13-2012 08:57 PM

Amazing quilt!

SueDor 09-14-2012 02:20 AM

You did a great job!

linmid 09-15-2012 03:43 PM

I like your table topper too. How big is the center dresden plate? Your border fabric is so perfect and so is the background fabric. Wonderful job.

suzanprincess 09-16-2012 01:59 AM

I wouldn't normally put "modern" and "Dresden plate" in the same sentence, but you created the perfect mingling of old and new. Beautiful!

sue1964 09-16-2012 04:55 AM

Oh how nice you made that. I love the quilting

JuneD 09-16-2012 04:58 AM

Wow!!! Absolutely beautiful!!!!The quilting adds such a wonderful texture to the whole project!!

JenelTX 09-16-2012 05:08 AM

Wow, that is cool! Using the curved arch gave it a whole different look than the traditional Dresden, even though the fabrics are cut in the traditional shape. And your quilting on the background and border is spectacular, too!

MarleneC 09-16-2012 10:03 AM

WOW!!! Nothing more to say.

Bebwee 09-16-2012 10:39 AM

When I first looked at this, I didn't see the Dresden plate at all. But when I looked at the close up pic, I can see it. the quilting gives this quilt a sense of movement and totally changes the effect. I love this look and the fabrics you chose!

Yarn or Fabric 09-17-2012 07:24 AM

Wow - that came out really sharp! I absolutely love the quilting you did on it!!
