Modern Dresden Plate
4 Attachment(s)
A traditional block using modern fabrics. I guess that makes it a Modern Dresden. I am still not so sure what makes a quilt "modern". I used Darlene Zimmerman's EZ Dresden ruler to make the petals, then quilted the center using a curved arc - reminds me of a Spirograph game when I was a kid. The background and border quilting just followed the pattern of the fabric. I sure like my new table topper.

that is really awesome. I was so glad when you took a picture so we could see it in another way. It would make a wonderful wall hanging.

Beautiful table topper. I love that fabric!

WOW! Its spectacular! You certainly didn't choose the easiest of fabrics to work with, but they are stunning and the quilting is so perfect for the designs. Love how you used the curved of the center to add so much motion to it!
I can see why you love your new table topper - it is gorgeous and the fabrics are very special. You did an excellent job of keeping the design straight in the background and border - very impressive.
Really cool the way you quilted it it. Looks like one of those beautiful Dahlia quilts. Nice illusion. Good job on the fabric choices as well.

Lovely table topper no matter what color you used. BrendaK
WOW - sure is pretty in those colors!

I am amazed and delighted by the way you quilted it. The arcs change the flow completely, and make it much more interesting. Your fabrics are also very unusual and perfect for this table topper.
Beautiful!!!!
Wow I love it - I really do think you took a traditional pattern and made it much more modern with the colors and the quilt design. You could call it "Not Your Grandmothers Dresden" - I love how this just brings the traditional and adds a new spin to make it more contemporary. Good job.
OUTSTANDING!!! Great eye for design.
Those colours speak out.
Wow that is the prettiest dresiden ever.
Very pretty. The quilting at first glance makes it look like a Dahlia.
