Mom's Flower Quilt

My mother has been an outdoor person all her life and loved planting in the yard and garden. She especially loved flowers. So when she had to give all that up and move into a retirement home we decided to give her a lap quilt that would let her always have the flowers she loved. We found a wall hanging kit and decided to add two borders to make it a lap quilt. She really loved it and has shown everyone in the retirement community her "year around flowers". It was simple but loved. We added a flower motif for the backing too.

Can I adopt you?????? I want one like that too!!! The panel is beautiful and I think I'd wrap myself in it with the backing on top and feel like I was sitting in a field of flowers!!! It is so gorgeous!!

Your quilt is beautiful.
I also made a quilt for my Mom when she was in a home & in a wheel chair.2 different times,we couldn't find the quilt.Long story short,it had her name on it but a nurse said it was best to take it home.I kept it in my car & used it for her lap quilt when we took a walk outside.It went to Mom's friend after I added her name to it. |
