I like the dark one better.

butterflyquilter 09-16-2010 06:56 AM

I like the light one.

Minnisewta 09-16-2010 07:01 AM

I think the colors POP on the black fabric.

mimee4 09-16-2010 07:42 AM

I like the light fabric to see the boots. BUT the darker fabric would be a lot of fun with color - for instance, pick a red or turquoise and see the that color jump out.

I like the dark.

iltoaz 09-16-2010 09:11 AM

I like the light one - shows off the boots better. Let us know what you decide.

Ilovemydogs 09-16-2010 09:47 AM

I like the light better, but the dark would also have its place.

Marguerite 09-16-2010 10:22 AM

I'm with Prism99. I think it all depends on who it's for. She's right. The light looks like it would be used for a younger person and the black is much more sophisticated.

Favorite Fabrics 09-16-2010 11:23 AM

I ordered the light. Once I see it in person, and can see just what the colors are, I'll be better able to decide whether I think there's enough contrast in the darker one. The rep brought the "book" around so all I had to work with was pictures on paper. The actual design, printed on cloth, may give a different effect.

The group is called "Home on a Range" and it's a future group from Elizabeth's Studio. I'm not sure of the ETA yet. We all LOVE their fabrics, though, because their designs are printed so crisply, with lots of fine detail.

If you'd like to see the entire group I posted pictures on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/favorite.fabrics. (We didn't order *all* of them, but you might want to look all the same!)

I'm wondering about the name of the group though. Wondering why they called it "Home on a Range", not "Home on the Range".

I like the light color

wraez 09-16-2010 03:12 PM

At first glance I like the dark best. But I agree that much depends on how you will be using the fabric and for whom/who?

i vote for the light

jdavis 09-16-2010 03:49 PM

I like them both, but the detail shows up better on the light.

lorraine43 09-16-2010 04:11 PM

I like the black best. The boots look like they are falling out of the sky. I wonder why they didn't put them on blue too.

Mariposa 09-16-2010 04:11 PM

Both! Depends on the project you'd be doing!

quilt3311 09-16-2010 04:12 PM

Light--although I could see possibilities in the dark version.

Annz 09-16-2010 05:29 PM

I like the lighter background better as you can see the boots better.

galvestonangel 09-16-2010 05:33 PM

I like both of them. I think it depends on the other colors in the quilt, which one to use. In some cases I might use both in the same quilt.

buffy2 09-16-2010 05:47 PM

I like the dark

dphelps 09-16-2010 05:56 PM

Like them both but would choose the light first.

amalia64 09-16-2010 08:37 PM

light side

hilda Vest 09-17-2010 07:41 AM

I like the dark background. The boots are more pronounced.

HeatherQuilts 09-17-2010 07:52 AM

I like the light background better, the details show up more. The boots seem to get a bit lost on the dark background.
JMO! :D

Although I prefer the dark one, I agree with Prism99. It does all depend on what kind of quilt you will be making.

I like the dark.

Caroltee 09-17-2010 06:46 PM

Guess it’s a good thing that twe have choices so that everyone can get what they like I like them both and would probably get both

dlspeed1 09-17-2010 06:57 PM

Dark for sure, the colors show up better, :)

mawmawbeve_60 09-17-2010 07:30 PM

"I Like the Darker"!

zz-pd 09-18-2010 07:33 PM

I love them both, But the light stands out more for me. God bless.

zactanls 09-19-2010 05:43 AM

I like the darker one

shirleyt 09-19-2010 06:40 AM

I like the light. shirleyt

I like the dark print as the colors pop. You could use all those colors to bring out the print, and use more black, perhaps in te border. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

my first thought was just the opposite.. cause the black won't show the dirt as fast...made only the first grandbabies quilt with white... once they get moving & dragging them behind them...
