I like the dark one better.
I like the light one.
I think the colors POP on the black fabric.
I like the light fabric to see the boots. BUT the darker fabric would be a lot of fun with color - for instance, pick a red or turquoise and see the that color jump out.

I like the light one - shows off the boots better. Let us know what you decide.
I like the light better, but the dark would also have its place.
I'm with Prism99. I think it all depends on who it's for. She's right. The light looks like it would be used for a younger person and the black is much more sophisticated.
I ordered the light. Once I see it in person, and can see just what the colors are, I'll be better able to decide whether I think there's enough contrast in the darker one. The rep brought the "book" around so all I had to work with was pictures on paper. The actual design, printed on cloth, may give a different effect.
The group is called "Home on a Range" and it's a future group from Elizabeth's Studio. I'm not sure of the ETA yet. We all LOVE their fabrics, though, because their designs are printed so crisply, with lots of fine detail. If you'd like to see the entire group I posted pictures on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/favorite.fabrics. (We didn't order *all* of them, but you might want to look all the same!) I'm wondering about the name of the group though. Wondering why they called it "Home on a Range", not "Home on the Range". |
I like the light color
At first glance I like the dark best. But I agree that much depends on how you will be using the fabric and for whom/who?
warm quilt hugs, sue in CA |
i vote for the light
I like them both, but the detail shows up better on the light.
I like the black best. The boots look like they are falling out of the sky. I wonder why they didn't put them on blue too.
Both! Depends on the project you'd be doing!
Light--although I could see possibilities in the dark version.
I like the lighter background better as you can see the boots better.
I like both of them. I think it depends on the other colors in the quilt, which one to use. In some cases I might use both in the same quilt.
I like the dark
Like them both but would choose the light first.
light side
I like the dark background. The boots are more pronounced.
I like the light background better, the details show up more. The boots seem to get a bit lost on the dark background.

I'm thinking the light background would be better for a child's cowboy quilt; the black background would be more sophisticated for an adult's quilt. |

Guess it’s a good thing that twe have choices so that everyone can get what they like I like them both and would probably get both
Dark for sure, the colors show up better, :)
"I Like the Darker"!
I love them both, But the light stands out more for me. God bless.
I like the darker one

I like the light. shirleyt

I like the dark print as the colors pop. You could use all those colors to bring out the print, and use more black, perhaps in te border. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
