Those awesome thread/fabric pieces need a "name" other than "quilt". In my mind quilt means something to snuggle/keep warm under on a bed/ couch, etc. these, although sandwiched together are so much different, they should have another title.....
Each one shown is so spectacular in itself, like a painting, it is its own thing........

You are exactly right - these are not "quilts" - they are paintings done with fabric and thread. My DD lives in Paducah and we go to the AQS Quilt Show every April and if it wasn't for her wanting to go to the actual show, I would not go to the show but go to the Vendors all over town and skip the show. I go home so depressed because my quilts are just bed quilts - not wall quilts or whatever they call them.

But your quilts get used! I really enjoyed the show but do wonder how many of the show quilts are used on the bed or sofa. I sent a quilt to an aunt who is going through chemo & know she will use it if needed. Brought a quilt with me to MI for an uncle who had a stroke 1 1/2 yrs ago & is still recovering. Just the Amazing Grace panel + borders so it covers in a chair. My aunt thought it should hang on the wall & I told her it had to be used. That is what all my quilts are for, I can make more.
