Where did you get your patterns from?

Hi, I got the patterns from "Celtic Quilt Designs II" The Children of Lir, by Philomena Durcan. There are lots of different designs in the book to copy - great value for money. There is a quilt design in the book made from some of the templates, and that is what has inspired me to do my quilt. Hope you manage to get a copy. I got mine off Amazon. Happy quilting.

Sharon.

Wow - do you have any examples I could look at?

Conartist1945 11-09-2010 01:14 AM

They are absolutely beautiful!

Oh wow - I really really really like these. Love the design (probably because I have Irish blood in me) and also love batiks. Two of my favourites. Well done.

thseabreze 11-09-2010 04:07 AM

they are beautiful...how do you do this? applique?

diana0307 11-09-2010 04:20 AM

Just so pretty. Wish I had that in my time to do list..With Christmas around the corner, and newborn babies to finish quilting, a quilt challenge due in January, I just don't have any extra time to do this. But your pictures are an inspiration. Just beautiful.

Beautiful blocks. Celtic is fun. Have around 50 designs on paper and only one of them stitched. One of these days will get back to that.

calicocat 11-09-2010 04:23 AM

Fabulous!

Celtic designs are so beautiful. Will have give them a try sometime down the road. Every time I come to the board, I find a new idea I want to try. Great job.

Perfect timing! I have just completed my first ever Celtic block . . . a True Lover's Knot for a wedding quilt my daughter is making. I enjoyed it way more than I expected and now want to make more. I have one book by Beth Ann Williams. What is a good source for patterns and ideas? Yours are truly beautiful!

Hi there, yes it's applique. I use bias binding and sewing the coloured section in as I applique the binding on. Regards

Hi there, the ones I am doing just now are from a book called "Celtic Designs II" Children of Lir, by Philomena Durcan. It has a lot of designs in it that are inspiring. Other than that I look on the internet for some other designs. I will have a look for the book you have mentioned. I have done a few now, and enjoy doing them. Hope you manage to do some more, and perhaps you can post some pictures of them.
Regards
Sharon.
