To draw the sketch pattern usually only takes an hour or two at most.

Then about another hour or two for the cutting of the lines (depending how many lines are just swift rotary cuts, and how many are small scissor cuts).

The pressing (because you have to be so careful that all the pieces are correct before pressing each area), takes an hour or so.

Finally, cut the outside edges, sew a rod pocket, add the tassel - these only take about 30 minutes total.

So, about 5 1/2 hours for a really complicated pattern. You have plenty of time!

I would love to learn this technique as I have a grandson graduating next year. This would be fantastic. Can you tell us where and how you learned how to do this.
