WOW! What a blast from the past!

Interesting on both counts!

What a treasure. Now all you need are directions for making the button holes on the left side of a dress, right under the left arm hole. I remember some like that when I was a kid, don't remember who owned it first or how old it was, but I'm telling my age here.

Yes, I remember one time when I was in my 20's, and an older neighbor asked me if I knew how to turn collars. I asked my mother about it and she told me they used to unstitch the frayed collar from the shirt and turn it around so the frayed part was underneath and the man had a nice new collar. Seemed like a whole lot of work to me. Needless to say I did not turn her husband's collars; or anyone else's for that matter.

You and I must both be children of the 40's. I love that old stuff.

I can remember my mom turning collars all the time, and learning to make bound buttonholes in higschool. I got here a little before the 40's, by a year.

Yup, I could do a perfect bound buttonhole. Don't know what good that skill is now, though. lol

I have a friend who is not much older than me and she has turned collars for years.
