My husband gained weight and I have many shirts that I was wondering what kind of quilt I could make out of them. Now I know! Really like your quilt - can't wait to make one for my husband!!

Neat idea!

Great idea, great quilt!

Love your quilt and good suggestion on the pockets. I find them to be the dickens to get off without a cut or hole. I can see why everyone wants your quilt. Trust Bonnie Hunter to come up with endless designs for scraps. Is this pattern from one of her books?

I do like this quilt. Great work and use of recycling materials. Perfectly scrappy.

I know every child with autism is different. I think of some of the children I've had on my caseload as a special education teacher. I can think of one in particular would love the pockets. He loves little figures, bean-bag cats and cartoon figures, etc. What a woinderful idea to leave the pockets in. I would think any child would like them for their "little junk" as my MIL used to call my children's favorite little toys.

what a clever way to make a quilt-would make a great quilt for a guy.

Jeannie34 04-10-2011 03:51 PM

Love the quilt.

Beautiful. I made a quilt of assorted plaids and didn't like the quilt I made so I discarded it but still have plenty left over and your quilt has inspired me to go ahead and make this pattern. Love it.

Hello. I just bought a lot of bundles of fabric. A lot are plaids and I have my own stash going of Dh used shirts. The Bonnie Hunter will never know how much she helps us scrap quilters. She is so nice to share and show us how its done. Your s is an inspiration. I hear my shirt scraps calling me.

Looks like his mom is a special lady. Gods gifts come in many sizes. My gs is austic also. They just need a lot of Love. Caleb will now let us take a picture of him. Progress.

Would we be able to find this pattern on her web site or from one of her books or did you design it yourself? I have been saving shirts of my fathers and need to make some throws for my siblings, this seems a perfect size and not to difficult to do... it has been a year now since his death and am ready to begin...

bugsmom 04-14-2011 08:27 AM

I found the pattern in an old magazine, it is really simple, takes about a full day. I'll look when I get home to find out the name of the magazine
