The backing fabric is also by Michael Miller it is called Morning Fairy Garden (Apple) it does come in pink, I got mine from Fabric Depot in the US.

I get all my fabrics from the US sent to Australia, then I send back the photographs of my work for all you experienced quilters to judge, a bit of a round trip you might say.

Very pretty! I love the Michael Miller Flower Fairy line. I'm currently finishing one for my 8 yo grand-daughter. She also has some of the books from Cicely Mary Barker who's designs these were based on. It would be fun to include one of her books with your gift. They are just as pretty as the fabric.

Thank you I will seek out the books, I am also about to make another quilt with a fairy and a Rose (also Michael Miller fabric) for a baby girl due in December, I think they are such feminine designs, and while children still believe in fairies whose to say we should not encourage them to continue to do so.

Pretty. I love the fabric on the back.

barnbum 08-08-2011 05:35 PM

I have ordered the book with the same picture on the front as the quilt, so it will be rather special. Thank you for suggesting the book.
