Today I went to the free fabric pick up from fabmo.org (you need to check out what they do). Its all fabric headed for landfill from designer showrooms. Each month they pick up 2,500 tons of fabric on average. Some 6" x 6" some as big as 3 yrds. Some light weight cotton, some heavy tapestry types. Silk, cotton, rayon/blends etc. I go for the cottons and a couple tapestry types for carry bags/totes. This is a picture of what I took home today. Also quilters/sewing folks bring in their not needed fabrics and its up for anyones taking. I also picked up a bag with approx. 25 spools of cotton thread all new. I am in a serious piece of heaven. How sad they throw this stuff away. How luck someone picks it up so I can go snag some!
