My 1930's Quilt
2 Attachment(s)
This is my version of a quilt from the book "Quilting Those Flirty 30's". The applique was done on my "modern" machine, but the piecing and construction was done either on my 1936 FW or my 1929 Singer 101 (which died as I finished the last seam!). My problem now is how to quilt it???? Suggestions?

Oh my, I love it. I love 30's fabrics and you have made a beautiful quilt!
Beautiful, really beautiful!!!!!!!
I would do hand quilting, Feathers around the borders, and quilting around the blocks and flowers with cross hatching after outlining them.
Beautiful-I love repro prints & you have made me want to do one next! Your applique is Awesome!

Great an lovely quilt.

Thanks, everyone! And tulip. I like your quilting suggestions. But hand quilting is out for me (boo hoo) because of arthritis in my thumbs. But I can do what you suggested by machine. I hope...

It's beautiful! I'm no help with the quilting, though!
I absolutely love it. 30's fabrics are my favorites. I have been eyeing that book for some time, you make me want to go out and buy it. Thanks for the inspiration.
No suggestions, but it is beautiful.
LOVE this quilt! Your choice of fabrics and colors are perfect for this pattern.
I hand quilt my 30's quilts. I like to keep the quilting in the same time era as teh fabric. They would have done it by hand then.
Great work! It's wonderful!

nicely done
maybe you could find a group that would do the handquilting for you, we, as a group do this and our money is donated to the local charities; although we do keep a bit for a pizza day
That is really pretty...I do a lot of '30's quilts...my favorite kind of quilt...you did a beautiful job.
beautiful quilt, great job
I love it. I have accumulated some 30's fabrics but still cannot decide how I want to piece them together. Some are fat quarters, some scrap pieces and little bit of yardage. Hopefully - someday!
What a great quilt! Love the reproduction fabrics.
Beautiful quilt! Be sure and repost when you finish quilting! :)
I would stitch in the ditch on the patch blocks and quilt around the flowers. A floral design on the borders, perhaps
Gorgeous quilt. What was the typical 1930's quilting?
Oh that is so pretty. I love blocks and applique combined.
I love it. Those fabrics are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
