My 2nd Scrappy
5 Attachment(s)
As you can see, I advanced with creativity on this one. These are Mom's bargello scraps she handed me. I worked on it nearly a month when the hook broke I my sewing machine. Good excuse for a back-up machine. A couple days later, the iron. It would have been easy to give up but I was so excited with how it was turning out. A week later I finished borders. These are Mom's scraps so I gave them back to her for the next fund-raiser sale and she and my SIL have the challenge of figuring out how they will quilt it.
I made 5 sets of 4 matching squares which became the pieced part of the pinwheels. The rest of the scraps I worked with as best as possible. There were very few left overs. Would I do another one of this magnitude? Mom already gave me more to work with. |
Wow, that is hard to believe they are scraps. It turned out beautiful and I love the red to make everything pop. Great job, and goes to show, our only limit is our imagination. You used yours very well.

Wonderful way you used up scraps. It looks totally planned in a great scrappy way. You did good! The red is awesome as the unifier for the whole piece. Love it.

Great job using up scraps and coming up with this beautiful quilt!
|
No actual pattern. I started with the pinwheel blocks though. Then I tried using my new Lazy Angle ruler (bought the book after the fact) and integrated Sharyn Craig's book "Setting Solutions". I tried to make each block different, even the framing, to bring them up to the same size. This was a tough one to give up, but it's exciting to see how much they raise. Thanks for the wonderful comments!
