WOWZA! Did I count 12 different fairy frost fabrics in the compass? Plus the black background, plus the applique. Your skill and dedication to quilting are admirable.

Thanks to all of you for your compliments. I really had fun with this quilt - made it back in 2007, I think. The pieces are rather large, so it goes very fast. I put fusible on the back of the border fabric & cut out the flowers for the corners. Didn't have much left, so there wasn't enough for all 4 corners to be alike, so it's 2 & 2. Then I took black thread & stitched around everything. I had left the tiniest margin of black on the cut-outs so I could do this. Originally had a wider coral inner border & fewer flowers in the corners. When I took it apart to reduce the coral border, I added more flowers & leaves, etc. to the corners. That's when I discovered you can heat the fusible, lift it up and put something under it, then iron it back down. |
