It is still very pretty, too bad about the stitching though, especially after all that hard work.

Grama Lehr 04-12-2010 11:30 AM

My wife just saw your quilt and told me that is how she wants the batting on our quilt I just finished the top on.

We both agree that is the most beautiful quilt and would be very proud to own such a piece of art.

And to think its all hand quilted, you did a wonderful job!!!!!

I think it's beautiful. I love the colors. I bet they love it too. Great job and thanks for sharing.

sewNso 04-12-2010 07:03 PM

good for you,.... using 'recyled' products somewhat. i have done that before. it is called being thrifty. and i have decided the next one i make for 'my house' is not going to have a bating, but is going to have a 'used, quality' sheet for the batting. still 3 layers, but lighter for summer. sometimes in the south, i understand, no batting is used at all. correct? any girls from the south?

EllaBud 04-12-2010 07:05 PM

Love to hear that, but very thick bating is very difficult to quilt, painful . But if u have a large frame that the whole quilt can be stretched at once will be easier
Mine was small hoop, enough only for one section Brock two times :? working on the floor
So my dear think again

There is thick batting sewNso
I am not sure of no batting or a bed sheet will be enough in between, ask sisters who r more expert to pic the last view I know some of u there used flees is it hot? it gives the quilting looking .
Good luck
