It's in great shape...It has one triangle that is torn but the rest looks great...I paid $12.00 for it. I don't know how old it is, but it looks like older fabric. This is the 3rd quilt that I have found at GW...Just wanted to share with you all...Any ideas how hold it might be? |
Great save!

wow...love the colors and the stitching.....great find

I love it! You have a treasure! A hug!

take some hemming tape that you can stick behind the tear and press it so it sticks. should patch your hole so it is not too noticible.

It looks to me like an all knit fabric quilt from fabrics back in the 70's. The stitching looks like it is hand done with maybe perle cotton. What a nice utilitarian quilt.
What a delightful find!
Awesome find!
How long have King Size beds been around? Not that long, I can remember never seeing either Queen or King Size beds until after I became an adult, about 61 yrs since I was 21 yrs old.
Might do some research--at Sears maybe? Phyllis 82 yrs in Oregon 70 yrs quilting |
Very colorful!
Great find :) |
I'm so glad that you rescued this great scrappy! What a find!
Great rescue! neat quilt
Great Find!! 70's sounds right if polyester.
I have my step dad's quilt made out of double knit and it's sewed together on the machine with stitches like that. I thought at first it was done by hand - but not. I can duplicate it on my Brother machine.

Great find!!!!! I love this......
Great buy!
Wonderful scrappy quilt with great stitching, even looks like it might not be 100% cotton fabrics (?)
The was an awesome find. I'm glad this treasure has a new home with you.
A wonderful find!
I agree. 70's most likely, since I just finished a quilt that my DH's GM started and I finished about 3 years ago for my MIL. It was all clothing scraps and most were polys and blends.
Great find! It's so colorful :)
Lucky you! It's wonderful.

From the look of the fabric shown....i'd say it's from the 50-60's ? Nice job on you finding it
I would say late 60 early 70. some of those fabrics look like clothes Mom made us.
Wow, it's beautiful! No idea on age, but definitely and Awesome Find!
what a wonderful find
Some one messed up. Good for you!
The quilt is gorgeous and what a great find with all the feather stitching. I might try to find some fabric similar to the one triangle with the tear and just applique over it. This would keep the original quilt intact for all intents and purposes. I can't believe you found it at Goodwill and only paid $12.00 for it. Amazing find.

Probably the 70's. I remember wearing dresses made with that type fabric. Mama used the scraps to make quilts. She didn't use batting. She would put flannel on back. I have several dresses that I found upstairs in a closet when Mama passed 2 years ago. I plan to make some more. Mama tied some and some she just quilted around each square. Makes good warm quilts and pretty, too.
Thanks for saving this one! |
Are some of the fabrics polyester?
What a great find. Love the stitching too.
Wow what a find
Wow! That is such a cool quilt, like the zig-zag stitching between the blocks.
