I can't believe I found this today...It is 100"x120" KING Size...
It's in great shape...It has one triangle that is torn but the rest looks great...I paid $12.00 for it. I don't know how old it is, but it looks like older fabric. This is the 3rd quilt that I have found at GW...Just wanted to share with you all...Any ideas how hold it might be? The whole quilt. King Size great colors look at this stitching... close up small tear in triangle the back of the quilt |
Oh colorful and cheerful!

Can't help with the dating, but it's a great find.
This is why I tell my daughter to use her quilts rather than save them. SHe and SIL don't want children so one day when they are gone the ones I make them will be found at the Goodwill.
Awesome
No idea about the age, but a nice save!
Are those cotton or perhaps poly knits? Maybe 70's or 80's if they are
beautiful, it was meant for you to rescue it
Wonderful quilt!!!
Love it!

Yes back in the 70's quilts made from leftover fabrics from sewing clothing was poly knit. I made one back then and have a mixture of knit and cotton in it.
My guess-'70's. The stitching on top is great--took a lot of time. Nice find.
no such luck for me with GW here!!
I'd say the 70's, too. I have 2 very similar that my mom made for me when starting up housekeeping and we still use them for warm comforts.
I agree with 70s. Reminds me of the quilt I have that my mom made out of polyknits left from the dresses she sewed.
gorgeous - stitching is really good
Wonderful find!!
Don't you just love shopping at Goodwill? Glad we have the pound store even cheaper prices and you never know what will show up each day. You got a beautiful quilt, Quilt Rescue believe it is. LOL
enjoy
Lucky you, great find!.
Love the way the quilter fastened the layers together with an embroidery stitch. |
Great find so good of you to save it. Looks like a mouse chewed it.
Our Goodwill only has clothes and junky stuff. The nice things we have taken must go to another part of the country. |
What a fantastic buy!!! Someone spent a lot of time making that.
beautiful
Pretty. Looks like it is made with Double Knit material. My mother made some like that.
What a wonderful find. Good for you. :-D

  i love the stitching
Great find!
I got to looking real close at how this quilt was made. They took 2 squares right sides together, sew a stitch from corner to corner, open it up and sew four of these together to make a block, then she did an embroidery stitch around the block. There is no batting. It is made with double knit material. Very heavy. That is so cool. I've never seen one like it.

Enjoy...looks like it is in excellent condition. I would guess it would be the 60s or 70s type fabrics.

very nice, you could replace the torn triangle.
Very pretty quilt! Probably from the 70's or 80's if it is poly knit.
