i had some pretty intense back surgery the end of march of this year. i've only been sewing a little over a year and i really liked that tutorial from #1piecemaker on her double bit axe quilt. she's been trying to get me to hand sew forever now and ive just laughed at her! well...there i was.....fresh out of the hospital, on my side with pillows and ice, head on a pillow, sewing these little pieces together because of my incessant desire to touch fabric! 374 pieces later, bought a hoop online, its all quilted and i absolutely LOVE IT! now im planning my next hand sewn/quilted one! thanks so much for looking and thanks a million to #1 for her fantastic tute and her friendship. ps~this only took me about 8-9 weeks start to finish! thanks for looking!

Gorgeous and amazing that you could do so much in such a short time after surgery!!!

You did a beautiful job, but I just can't imagine, like you, doing something so amazing all by hand, but then, we play with the cards we're dealt and make the best of it. As I can see by your photo you did just that! I hope by now you're healing and able to get around a little better.

Hope you are feeling better. Lovely quilt. Can't imagine doing something like that by hand and being sick on top of it. I bow down to you. BrendaK
