Burt county. We are about 25 miles west of the Missouri river flooding. Very furtunate that we do not have farm ground on the river bottom. But we did have a bad hail storm come through the 18th of August that demolished about 200 acres of our crop.

Fabulous barn, fabulous barn quilt, wonderful farm! I sure miss seeing so many old barns in the Midwest. There are so few here in Oregon. Enjoy your new quilt creation!

how close are you to Oklahoma?... I know Kansas is in between but what I mean is are you on the north side of Nebraska or southern side...
I'm central Oklahoma...
I may just have to take a road trip :D

That is too cute... I may have to make me a barn quilt too :D

Wish I had a barn. Maybe here in Oregon we can start garage quilts.

That's a perfect place for one - and it would be a welcome sign!

Not only does your barn look fantastic, it shows off the quilt so well. Love your work and your HARD work.

Good for YOU! I love it! Makes me homesick... I grew up on a farm with a red barn, outbuildings, etc. Did you let the gal know who has the website "Quiltbarntrail" or something like this? She loves to keep up with them! She'd love to hear from ya. She puts out calendars, has a book coming out, all about Quilt Barns.

Wow, you are ambitious! They both look great - the barn and the quilt. I love the quilt block you used and the colors.

chickadee_42us 09-05-2011 06:05 AM

Fantastic. If I was closer I'd come help you paint ;-0

I would help if I lived closer but I can't go up. I'm the person that stays on the ground. lol
I love it. I have a barn but it's over 100 years old and if I did one of those the boards would fall off the barn. It is beautiful.

You did a fantastic job. Whenever I spot a barn quilt, it always brings a smile to my face.
