I found this Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt top today at a garage sale... all handpieced, and made from early flour sacks...
I'm just thrilled with it! Cost me a whole $45.00!! |
Beautiful!

I have a top I started almost 40 years ago, (1973), with scraps from clothes I made for myself, 2 DDs, 1DS.DH, and Mother. I saw one and no one taught me so my cardboard hexegon kept getting bigger as 1 wore out and I made new ones. I put a bright yellow path to match the center of the flowers. Now I think it is ugly and you know it is wonky. My daughter thinks I should throw it away! hand pieced of course.
|
Great find. I love the fabrics.

On things like this, I like to keep them as "just quilt tops" only. The backs are as interesting as the fronts usually.. I have another old old quilt top that is a log cabin, foundation pieced and never been quilted... I love it the way it is... |
What a treasure!
|
That wonderful, Love all the old fabric and the colors look so bright. :)
