My birthday present

My husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I really need nothing, but then I remembered I needed a cutting mat. I told him about it and he asked me to go ahead and order it. It arrived on Thurs. and I tried it later that day. It's like having a new blade in my cutter! Wow. Smooth as butter. I'm posting a picture of it and my old one which I've had for several years now and is very well worn.
I know that some of you say that you don't use the cutting lines on the mat. Obviously I do. |

Congratulations! It certainly looks like your old one needed replacing but make sure you save it. You can flip it over to use the other side for squaring up your quilts with the rotary cutter and ruler.

It is great that you rememberd that you needed a new mat -- what brand is it. I use my lines too -- I just bought a new one and then went to a new quilt shop and she had one from England that had lines on both sides. She said it is wonderful -- price but the best she had used. Can't remember the brand since I just got a new Olfa.

It's an Olfa and I have inches in one side and cm on the other. :) Perfect.

Your old one doesn't look self healing (don't know if it is or not). Self healing is great but they wear out too. your new on looks nice and big! Happy Birthday!

Your old on looks like the one I just replaced, they sure take a beating when we quilt alot. It had gotten almost impossible to cut a straight line on my old one.
I have never seen one with the designs on it like yours. I use the line to cut by also, need all the help I can get to cut straight...:thumbup: |
