It's like one is looking at the sun.

The center blocks started from a pattern but I soon discovered I had too much wasted material. That was when I had to rethink and redesign. So I guess you could say that it's an original.

Thanks for the nice analogy.

The combined fabric colors was fun to pick out.

Wow!! It looks like fire. I'm really drawn into it.

No, I did not do it in satin. It's all cotton fabrics. This is the third quilt that I have ever made and it was a little more difficult and took longer than the first two quilts.

The various medium fabric colors did bring life to this quilt.

That's exactly what I thought, too! This is spectacular!

It's a generous lap size quilt 76 1/2 "x 76 1/2". I used about 90 fat quarters of various shades ( cream, tan, mediums, dark brown, finishing with blacks. Various widths are cut and sewn to accomodate a 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" template. I believe you are seeing most of the quilt, but I will try to add another picture if I'm allowed. The backing color is a rich batik brown.

Thank you! The combined colors of fabrics really added life to the quilt.
