We just had our carpet replaced today which meant we spent the last two days clearing out the three bedrooms and floors of closets! The carpet layers left about noon today and we spent the rest of the day reinstalling 'stuff.' My sewing room was top priority! It is certainly a mish-mash of furniture, but it serves me well. Wish it was a little bigger to accomodate a dedicated cutting space, but I get by. This space also serves as my 'office' space - hence the old desk and filing cabinet. Another closet in another bedroom holds more quilting and craft supplies along with another chest of drawers full of other types of fabric and odds and ends.

My 2 'babies', the Pfaff and HD TV

This chest of drawers dates to when DH was a baby. It was used for both of our babies as well

I bet you have lots of fun in there! Looks like a great room!

That looks so neat!

I always start out with good intentions...but then get detoured to the 'road to hell'...

Bluebonnet Sue 10-02-2010 06:16 PM

What a GREAT room.

laureneberhard 10-02-2010 06:17 PM

Oh boy....mine NEVER looks that clean and neat! I have 3 spaces and none of them are that cool looking. I really need to get everything together in ONE place. Thanks for the inspiration.

mypatookis 10-02-2010 06:26 PM

What a beautiful sewing room! I only dream of having that much room. Now... if you only had a little frig and a bathroom in there... you'd never have to leave! 8-)

Barbm 10-02-2010 06:27 PM

thanks for sharing. I love looking at other people's sewing rooms. (Kind of like looking in people's windows at night if the shades aren't drawn. I like to do that too. hehe)

(but not like a peeping tom)

What a nice room!

AnitaSt 10-02-2010 06:33 PM

Great room. Did you make your design wall? Looks like it hangs on a curtain rod? Can you tell me more about it?

Linda B 10-02-2010 06:37 PM

Yes, I made the design wall. I usually do large quilts so I wanted it to be as wide as the space would allow and yes, it is hanging from a curtain rod. It is flannel backed vinyl. There is a dowel rod in the bottom to keep it taut. The blocks in the pictures are left-overs from a new bedroom quilt.

sewsue 10-02-2010 06:40 PM

lovely does it always stay so tidy? hehehehe

Jim's Gem 10-02-2010 06:51 PM

Looks beautiful!!!!!

littlehud 10-02-2010 06:52 PM

Looks great. Now it's time to mess it up.

Linda B 10-02-2010 06:53 PM

I usually straighten up, vaccuum and dust a little after each major project, but I don't tend to be a 'detailed' duster. However, I cleaned each piece of furniture, front, back, top and bottom as it came back into the room. It won't be quite this truly clean again until we finally get around to repainting the walls which need it badly.

Mariposa 10-02-2010 07:24 PM

What a great room! Now what is your next project, so you can "mess" things up??

vintagemotif 10-02-2010 07:28 PM

Very Neat! Looks like a comfortable room to work in, and I like your design wall.

sewTinker 10-02-2010 07:31 PM

I just love getting to see other folks' sewing rooms. It's always interesting - especially storage and furniture placement. This room looks so cozy. I love the chair. there's nothing like a fresh, new sewing spot to inspire us!

jljack 10-02-2010 08:53 PM

What a comfortable room..I'm sure you get inspired in there!! :D

I only have a tiny little bedroom for my sewing room and the spare bed takes up 1/3rd of the room. mind you I haven't seen the bed for months I think it is still there under all the material and junk

donna873 10-03-2010 05:07 AM

Beautiful..now you can come and clean mine..I had to add my grandsons toys to my room, so it seems a bit tight..but I love to watch him play..

Hahahaha... well, I think the material is more important than the bed ;) (storage is storage) and you have an excuse for no company! That would take up your quilting time... hehe Mine also is a tiny little bedroom... with no closet. Yikes! My computer desk is an old giant secretary's desk which takes up way too much room. I've been thinking of rearranging for months! I need to get a smaller desk. But what would I do with all my desk "stuff"? . This is inspiration... now if I could just find a organizing fairy... hmmmmm

Stitchnripper 10-03-2010 07:51 AM

Donna P 10-04-2010 04:49 AM

I start to clean then find a project to do then all the cleaning goes away...lol great job on your room tho....it looks great

NanaSue 10-04-2010 06:09 AM

I love your room but I'm really interested in your sewing machine cabinet. I have asked Santa for a cabinet since I now just sew on top of a 6 foot table and would really love to have the machine sit down and be level with the table. So where did you get your cabinet and the name of the brand???

quiltmom04 10-04-2010 06:17 AM

So fun to see your pictures. I have that lamp, that TV, that phone, that fan. Would love to have the CV!

Bailey's mom 10-04-2010 06:23 AM

That is a totally organized room that is just caling my name to come and play!!!

amandasgramma 10-04-2010 06:26 AM

Beautiful room!!!! And I can just hear it now....the countdown 5, 4, 3, 2......until it's NORMAL again!

Gayle 10-04-2010 06:35 AM

Wow! Are you ever neat and organized!

dottientx 10-04-2010 06:42 AM

I'm with Nanasue. Where did you get your sewing machine table? Like not only the dropped area for the machine but the leaf behine the machine.

puck116 10-04-2010 06:50 AM

Great room. Did I see some empty boxes in your closet? Looks like you need to go shopping.
