It is gorgeous! No way I would let go of it either!!!!!!! :D :D :D

That is AWESOME. I'm assuming you received a piece of the pattern at each shop you hopped to. Can the pattern be purchased too?
|
Oh my--that is amazing. Definitely a keeper!! I'd love to see more photos of it--more of the whole quilt and some squares. :D
|
We did get a piece of the pattern at each of 10 shops. Had to blow a lot ot the pieces up. We could have bought the fabric too which I chose not to do but next time I think I will buy it. Our next hop is August 1-3. Since I'm no longer in classes I either have to go alone or take the bus for $70. It will take 2 days to hit all the shops either way.
Thanks to all of you for your kind comments. Don't know what I'm gonna make next time but may be a baby or wedding quilt for my neice. I'd like to try the wedding ring or the dresden plate soon. |
You certainly do beautiful work, that is great, never saw one quite like it I like the colors you used :D

Thank you so much for the extra photos. What a treat!! It's just amazing. It'd be a great wall hanging too.
|
Doubt that will happen but I'll keep you in mind. I see you live in Spain. I just got back Tuesday night from 2 weeks in Grimsby, England. I had a great time getting back together with my best friend.
|
I'd like to do that but I just don't have the room to. The finished size is 68 X 81. Don't really want it on my bed because my husband's cats sleep all over it. I have to cover my bed with a sheet every day to keep off the fur. I'll have to figure out some where to put it though/

Almost all of the fabric is batik. Got to be expensive but I new it was gonna be worth it. It has solid navy blue on the back.
|
WOW!! Its beautiful!! Deffinately a KEEPER!!!

I am getting speedhless too with all the great replies I've had today on this quilt. Yoiu are all so great to let me know. I still have the pattern. I had the big pieces copied and laminated so I wouldn't lose them or screw them up just in case I did one in the future. Those leaves were supposed to be Aspen leaves but they were so small and looked so silly that I changed that in a hurry. :D
You can't see it in the picture but there is an outline of an elk stiched in behide the deer. Linda did such a great job qilting and decided I needed an elk. Hope you all have a great week! |
gorgeous and so colorful..makes you smile everytime you see it!
|
Absolutely love it! :)

AWESOME quilt!!!!!

HiConnie, Well I hope you had some decent weather over there in Grimsby when you visited because its raining cats and dogs over there now. Glad you had such a nice time with your friends though, there is such a lot to see, different culture and way of life heh :D See any quilting shops :D :D

Thansk so much for all the good replies on my quilt.
I did go to two shops. One in Lincoln where we left my friends machine for some work and the best one was in Gimsby. Some beautiful fabrics there. I guess they consider them Pakistani fabrics. They are pretty flashy but I did love them. He had a Janome Serger in the window. Someone bought it and decided she wanted something else so brought it back with the original thread still in it. I bought it for 99 pounds and packed it up good in my suitcase and brought it home. Now I'm waiting on a dropper cord I ordered so I can plug it in to 110V. Don't want to blow myself up. I loved all the trees and the fields of rape seed. I bouoght some honey mixed with rape seed oil that is good for asthma but put it in my carry one and customs got a great jar of it. Hope my friend send me a jar to try. The houses with the vines and purple flowers hanging on them were great. I can't remember the names of that right now (too early) but they are so pretty. Wish I'd gotten pics of some of those houses. Have a great night. Guess it's night where you are. |
Thanks Henry!!
