My crayon quilt
1 Attachment(s)
After seeing Tartan's crayon quilt and mme3924's crayon quilt, I decided to make one. Here it is. This will be one of four youth quilts I donate to our guild's charity committee, as they put out a "We need more quilts for young people" alarm last month.
I think some young person will like it. I sure hope so. I thought it was a good use of scraps, until I realized most of my scraps are blue and purple, or maybe earth tone. I had to do some digging to find scraps for the crayon colors I wanted, and eventually had to borrow orange scraps from my sister. :) Dina |
That turned out really well, Dina. Congratulations on a great finish!
Love it! I too decided I had to make one after seeing Tartan and mme3924's quilts. How big is yours?
Mine is 43 inches by 49 inches. I think they each had seven crayons, but mine has six. :)

I like it!!!

Excellent! I love it. I have plans to make 1 or 2 for Grandkids. I'll keep yours as an example!
It's really pretty.
Very cute, great use of colors!
Wow! I sure like your quilt - and thanks for giving me another quilt idea for our youngest grandson  Although paintmejudy has helped me use up quite a few scraps, I bet I could muster up enough to make one of these (or else I'll just have to go out again and buy MORE fabric :D). Some child will sure be happy with your quilt.
Love your colors!
Nice! I really like the colors against black. A crayon quilt is on my want-to-do list and I can see how it'd take some time to get that many different colored scraps gathered up. At least for me.
I am inspired to make one too. Great use of scraps. Now I have to buy some black! Thank you for sharing a picture. Love these crayon quilts.
Beautiful! Love it.
That's cute.
Thanks for the nice comments. :) I am going to sew a label on it today and then give it to my guild's charity committee.

You quilters keep it up and I am going to have to try one myself. CUTE>
I love this. Great for any child.
Good job and you're right the children will love it.
Oh I like this!!
Really a cute quilt and so appealing to a child or young person. I am sure that charitable quilts for this age group are harder to come by. I think it might be nice to make "crayons" from scraps as you do other items. They would be ready quickly to make a quilt for an individual who 'needs' a quilt to hug.
That came out so cute. I'm sure some young person will love it!
Wonderful quilt - and the red border really sets it off.
What a great quilt. Can't wait to make one. Thanks for sharing...
Very pretty !!!
This is interesting. I could make it and embroider our grandson and his wife and the four kids on the six crayons. I will have to look into this when I get home.
Just adorable.
