My Daughter calls it the OLD LADY QUILT

A client gave me this quilt to longarm quilt, sorry I couldn't get picture of whole quilt, as my holder upper was gone. I do not know the name of the pattern, but when my 15 year old daughter saw it she said that looks like something an old lady would make, all I could do was laugh at her, she just says what she thinks. I went out of my comfort zone in the borders on this quilt, but from much inspiration from this board I am starting to do that a lot more. Thanks for looking.

I think you did a beautiful job! I am an old lady, but I think anyone would love to have this quilt. Your quilting makes it shine!

Well compared to your 15 year old daughter....I am an old lady, and I really like this quilt. You did a fabulous job on the quilting too.

Wow, beautiful!!!!

laceybritt 04-25-2012 07:40 AM

Beautiful!!! I remember when I was a teen I did not care for the old fashions either, as we age we seem to gravitate to them.

burchquilts 04-25-2012 07:41 AM

I'm an oldie (but a goodie... LOL!) & I love, love, love this quilt! I also love that your daughter speaks her mind (take it from one who does the same...)! Oh, I remember having a 15-year-old & I feel your pain... LOL! Thanks for sharing the quilt & the story with us!

LTeachergeorge 04-25-2012 07:45 AM

meg-2 04-25-2012 07:58 AM

I do not admit to being old yet, but I do love this quilt. The quilting is great. I haven't commented a lot on this sight but I read a lot and you are right about the encouragment and it really does make you want to step out of your comfort zone, I can see you stepping out urther in your future. I'm to new to all of this to know the design name but it reminds me of some of the tulip designs I have seen.

That is stunning! I'd think a lady, ANY lady, would feel privileged to own a quilt this nice. Great job!

Valerie Scherr 04-25-2012 08:09 AM

leatheflea 04-25-2012 08:11 AM

Stunning for two old ladies work!

Harmony 04-25-2012 08:12 AM

I think "old lady" translates to "traditional, with flowers." I don't think I'm an old lady yet (although my kids would probably disagree), but I love your quilt! The quilting is spectacular!

Confederate Rose 04-25-2012 08:26 AM

Beautiful and your quilting is outstanding!

prezzy 04-25-2012 08:29 AM

Me too and you did a fantastic job with the quilting. It's a simple 9 Patch in the dark blue and an expanded 9 patch for the 'flowers' but it's beautifully made and the colors a so bright a cheerfu. This 'old lady' would be more than happy if someone gave me one like it.

barny 04-25-2012 09:14 AM

Oh, it is so beautiful. And your quilting also is beautiful. I love it.

snownannie 04-25-2012 09:24 AM

Even though I have my share of grey hair , I don't concider myself an old lady ... but if loving your quilt puts my in that catagory I am more than happy to be there... and with some mighty fine company! The quilting is just beautiful , I keep scrolling back to get all of the details.
