The very hungry caterpillar is one of my favorite kid's stories and I LOVE that quilt! I don't think it's dorky at all!

I love it! As a reading teacher, it is right up my alley. I agree with the person that said get the book to go with it. Wow.

Lovely! She did an awesome job and the quilter did great in quilting it...DORKY? Nope, just gorgeous !

Thank you all for the nice comments! She totally adored the quilt! She proudly told her dad and everyone that there was no way she could afford to get her quilt quilted for awhile. She loved that I had it done for her and was very verbal about it!
I do have a short arm machine and frame, but I am not that practiced of a quilter as my LA is, or I would have done it myself.

*I'm confused, what is wrong with waiting? Perhaps she has some colors she has not decided about yet?
Ask if you can do the binding if you can, and if the answer is negative, well, then it might be fun to make something else in her colors.
What is wrong with this hanging in the kitchen or dining area? Lovely fresh bright colors, maybe she is afraid to tell you what she thinks for fear of hurting your feelings?
Sounds odd but maybe you could safety pin some 3-D wings on the worm, and make it funny?

I think it is a fabulous gift and I'm sure she will, too. I do longarm quilting and so I know what the charges are and for some, it is one of those things that they can always "do at a later time 'cause they can't afford it". So Im sure she will love it that you had it quilted for her.
