My Daughters Very first Quilt !
1 Attachment(s)
Not only is it her first quilt, it was the first time she had ever used a sewing machine. With that in mind we kept the design very simple. She was mastering a new skill as she created a quilt. She quilted it with Stitch in the ditch.
She asked this past summer for me to teach her how to quilt at 17. She was so excited when the last stitch was done, she wanted it washed & dried right away. She has another pile of fabric she selected. I can't wait to see what she creates next. Thanks for looking. |

We are seeing the beginning of a new quilter - and she's done a tremendous job of her first one, too! Can't wait to see the next one.....
|
That's a great quilt; you have every right to be proud of her!
It's fun to get the younger generation involved, and teach them a new skill. I tell my 'grands' that the more they know the more valuable they are to the world and, of course, to themselves. |
She did great, I gave my grand daughter a sewing machine and some fabric squares for Christmas. She hurt her foot, and she can not use her foot for any thing for 6 more weeks. She turned 12 today. Hopefully she will be able to start to use it after the doctor give her the go ahead. I told her I would come over on a Saturday and show her how to
use the sewing machine. |
Awesome, she does very nice work!!!!!

Great job! Love the fabrics. It's so nice you can both enjoy quilting together. I agree that it is so important to pass on what we love to the younger generation, so quilting continues to grow and is not lost.
