How sweet! I think she did a great job of arranging her prints. What a dear thing for a friend to do!

DianD 09-16-2010 04:07 PM

That actually made me tear up! Such beautiful work from such a beautiful young woman! Tell her that DianD is proud of her, and she is welcome to come sew with me anytime she wants to!

IBQUILTIN 09-16-2010 04:32 PM

Just let her B-

IBQUILTIN 09-16-2010 04:34 PM

Oops, hit the wrong key Let her b-proud. And practice practice, practice. I know its hard to hold their attention at that age, but look what she accomplished. Both the quilt and the quilter are adorable

MarilynLouise 09-16-2010 05:16 PM

She did great. I'm sure her friend will be impressed.

Jo Belmont 09-16-2010 05:26 PM

Megan, you are one beautiful, talented little quilter. And, yes, with that accomplishment you are well on your way to being well worth the title.

Wowee! I'm impressed. I was well into my codgerhood by the time I made my first quilt. I didn't know anybody who did it and didn't even know about rotary cutters, so I did it all with scissors.

It was horrible! But our doggers fell in love with it and I have since gotten better.

But YOU! You have started so early and so well!

I also want to tell you that your smile absolutely made my day. What precious happenings for you and Mom. Good on ya.

malega 09-16-2010 05:30 PM

Megan you are so cute on the machine, keep up the nice work.

Looks great Megan. You did a good job sweetie. Keep up the good work. If you are having trouble with 1/4 " just keep practicing making more quilts and you'll do fine. So glad to see you are quilting and I know your mom is too. Love your quilt.

marlene tarzwell 09-16-2010 08:30 PM

They both are so cute. Maybe get her to learn the 1/4 in seam by using a 1/4 in presser foot. That's how I did it and would be lost without it. Got it for my birthday from a friend. Best gift ever. Marlene

This may help with those pesky quarter inch seams. I used blue painter's tape before I got a quarter inch foot. Put the tape on the top fabric, and carefully line up. Worked like a charm. She did a very nice job, and remembering friends who move away is always special.

It's so precious to see a child at the sewing machine. She did a beautiful job. I love her choice of placement of the squares.

Very nice. I have so much fun quilting with my 9yo DGD. Once I got her over the "perfect" phase we have a great time. She got so upset that it didn't always come out perfect but she now knows that gives the quilt character. She is now working on placemats that she wants to give her non-sewing mom for X-Mas.

dawn payne 09-18-2010 07:27 PM

Both are absolutely precious!

zz-pd 09-18-2010 11:33 PM

She is a doll, and her quilt is just wonderful. God bless.

dsj 09-19-2010 12:25 PM

She did a great job for her first quilt. That's what friends are all about. Very sweet of her to think about her friend.
