I just had to share these pics. This is Megan (9), working on her first quilt. She made a doll quilt for her friend who moved away last year.
She made the top herself, from some charm squares I had in my stash - and I quilted it for her, and added the binding. We'll need to practice the 1/4" seams, but for now, she's just having fun with it - and I think it's beautiful! |
She is so cute !!!! Love her quilt!!!

Such a nice thing for you two to do together! Love it!
Nice job!
Oh She is a darling! Tell her that Jeanne from the board said she did a GREAT job and stay with it!! How wonderful for you to have a daughter that is interested in your hobby. I think I'm alittle jealous! :-)
I see a quilting star in the making!
I think the beautiful smile on your daughters face say it all. She did a WONDERFUL JOB.

We are so proud of her |
She did a great job. I hope she keeps up the good work. Next time she can quilt it, too.
She looks mighty proud of that quilt top, and she should be. Give her a hug and a pat on the back for me. :-)
Super cute!!!!
Thanks everyone! When she gets home from school I'm going to pull up this thread so she can read your encouragement for herself. She'll be thrilled!

She did a wonderful job! How cool that she made it for a friend! :D :D :D
She is so cute! She did a great job on placement and 1/4" seams aren't as important as spending quilting time with Mom. Her friend is going to love it.
Love her smile; she is so proud of herself ... as well she should! Great job!
gorgeous..both the quilt and the girl. Looking forward to what other wonderful creations she makes!

Wow!!! This little lady is very talented and on her way to Master Quilter!
How sweet. Her quilt is so cute. Tell her Great Job!!!!!
What a doll! She looks like she is just tickled pink with this project!
BTW, I hope you told her how addictive making doll quilts were. |
What a neat deal! I hope that my granddaughters will one day want to do the same! (My daughters have absolutely no interest in sewing at al - so my only hope is my granddaughters!!)
Such a sweet innocent face filled with such pride (and rightly so)!!!!!!!! To help with 1/4" seams have you thought about cutting several layers of painters tape and getting it down several inches in front and back of the pressure foot to help keep those seams straight.??
What a lucky little girl to have a grandma to teach her this art! She's darling!
Super good job, and you are
training another quilter to our group. Think of all the neat things she will make as she grows up. Betty Lee |
Your DD did a great job!!! Her colors are so neat.
