My Fabric Splurge - I may have overdone it!
 

[ATTACH=CONFIG]375707[/ATTACH]My LQS is closing and she has 50% off everything this month. Although it makes me very sad, I was happy to take advantage of the sale. I got 2 yard cuts of most of them, a few pre-cut half yards, a jar of girly button (because I think the grand baby will be a girl) and only 1 pattern.
The 1st pic is a 4 yd cut. It is actually more burgundy and I think it will make a nice jacket.

Where are you in Wisc? Maybe you want to make a trip there if it's not too far?

I LOVE that top red feathery fabric. I have seen it used in purses with that crinkly texture stuff. It looks amazing. Great haul! :)

I really hate to hear about local quilt shops closing. My local shop closed yesterday. Glad you got some good deals though.

What a beautiful stash. Sorry your LQS is closing. And you are right that first fabric will make a beautiful jacket (I made a purse out of that same fabric).

Great haul for sure but hate that a quilt shop had to close. We have a new one in town and I am hoping it will thrive. The owner is so helpful and excited about her shop.

I too feel like I am "picking at the bones" and have a some guilt, when a shop has a going out of business sale. But you did well with your purchases.

It is always nice to have larger pieces in your fabric stash! Great bargains, but I hate it when fabric shops go out of business.

So sad when a quilt shop has to closed. Your fabrics are very pretty, I'd say it is a very nice haul!

What a great haul and such beautiful fabrics! Unfortunately, a lot of quilt shops, local and online, have not been able to stay in business due to the economy. It is sad to see. But I did see one shop recently and the owners had decided to retire instead of being forced out of business- yeah. Enjoy your new fabs.

The shop is Stitch by Stitch (formerly Cotton Club) between Chippewa Falls and Cadott. She is open t-f 10-5 and sat 9-3. Let me know if you go and I will try to meet up with you there. :)

I am just over an hour away and I am trying to convince myself I don't need anything. Not so sure I would have as much control as you. Very nice selection of fabrics you have purchased. Love the oranges and the blues. Sorry to hear about another LQS closing shop.

I"m sad about the LQS closing. Don't think of it as taking advantage of the closing so much as helping the owners. They would have to sell it even cheaper or figure out what to do with the stock. At some point they'll have to move out completely, then what? Go take some of that stuff off their hands and wish them well as you go. I'm telling you this from experience....my husband had to close his nursery a few years ago. We hated to lose the money we'd invested in stock, but it was better than losing the business and the house. So we cut everything down to clearance prices and were grateful every time anything left, plants or nonliving items. People thought they were only helping themselves, some even apologized for taking advantage of our misfortune, but we'd explain that they were helping us. And they were.

Sorry they're closing - I depend on estate sales for my fabrics now as there are no shops close by anymore. Nice haul - keep going back until they're gone - I'm sure the reductions will increase as time draws close

With winter coming it looks like you have plenty of fabric to keep you busy, and get a lot of quilts made.

Looks like some good stash enhancement. You didn't overdo it. I think we all feel sad when our local shops can't make it. Hard times ahead...
