Moving a few blocks to the sides, should I add a sashing or just bind it. On the subject of sashing fabric what is your suggestion. Something vintage or a tonal?, as not to take away from the beauty of the top. Thanks |
That's beautiful!

Why on earth would anyone get rid of something as beautiful as that? Glad it's been rescued by you. Enjoy it.

You are sooooo lucky.

oh my goodness, that is beautiful. How someone could let that go is beyond me. glad it found a good home with you.
wow, that is a treasure. it's in great shape. and such maticulous hand sewing. it's so sad when people don't know what they have. :-( it is wonderful that you rescued it. :D

I've found some terrific things at Goodwill, but never anything as gorgeous as that. What I don't understand is how anyone could give it up.
that is beautiful. Great eye!!

How sad that someones hard work ends up in goodwill...but what an incredible treasure for you!! We know you will do right by the original quilter and make it perfect! Please show us the finished product! It's going to be lovely!

Wow what a find! Congratulations!:)
What a treasure - I never see anything like this at any thrift shop.
What a beautiful quilt. I often wonder why beautiful work like this winds up at Goodwill. Evidentally, they don't know the sentimental value. I have often rescued handmade items from yard sales, crochet, or quilted.
DOUBLE WOW - that is quite a find
How anyone could let this end up in a thrift shop is beyond me, but i'm so glad you have saved it.
What a find. It would be great to finish it as it will last much better onoce it is quilted. Good luck.

JACKPOT!!

I'm so glad you, a quilter, found it. Also, that it wasn't just thrown in the trash. Better Goodwill than the trash. It reminds me of the Jacobean and Baltimore patterns. Some one worked long and hard on it and it's nice too know it will now be appreciated and loved!! Are you going to quilt it or have it long-armed? Good luck in what ever you decide!
What a find!!! I'll never find anything like that at our Goodwill!! It's so sad that someone donated that with all that work, never appreciating it....didn't want it!! :(
What a great Score! It is very bright and cheery - I love it!
Wow, I don't know why anyone would part with that.
