So I had these pinwheels laying around for awhile. And my niece wanted a quilt for her American Girl doll. I did all the piecing, quilting, and binding on my Janome.

I'm pretty pleased with it. There are a couple mistakes, but I doubt she'll notice them :).

Very good! Now don't you feel proud! Lovely colors!

I am pretty proud of myself ;). I experimented with FMQ and found that stippling was the easiest for me. The whole reason I did it on my machine was because my mom got me the Supreme Slider to put on the bed. It made the quilting go so much easier and faster. No drag and my stitches were pretty even :). Glad I just jumped in and did it!

Dolphyngyrl 06-12-2011 11:09 AM

Looks good, wish mine could look that good the first try

Great job - she will love it. What's the Supreme Slider for a bed? Can you post a picture?

The Supreme Slider is like this slippery piece of vinyl type material. the underside is sticky and just goes on the bed of the machine :). It totally eliminated the drag and just made the whole process go a lot smoother and so much faster! I hope I explained it well enough :).

Honestly, the Supreme Slider made my movements a lot more fluid and curvier. I'm pretty sure it was the best birthday present I've ever gotten ;).

Me, too!
Great little quilt. My favorite colors!

Jamiestitcher62 06-12-2011 11:33 AM

Great job on your stippling. Isn't the Supreme Slider just awesome. I have one that is larger than the 8 X 10 one that is on the market now. I don't know if you can get the bigger one anymore. I got mine on Leah Daye's website Dayestyledesign.com, I think.

sueisallaboutquilts 06-12-2011 11:33 AM

That's so pretty!! I have the Supreme Slider for when I work up the nerve to start!! :D
I love your work, great job!!

LoriEl 06-12-2011 11:34 AM

I certainly don't notice a mistakes. Now you ahve the confidence to go alittle bigger! Great job.

sueisallaboutquilts 06-12-2011 11:38 AM

For anyone who is looking for the Queen size Supreme Slider I saw it on few websites but it's pricey!! Around 58.00 before shipping. I hate to spend that much :(
I'm going to give my regular size a go :)

Excellent job. Oh, if only I could do the same...but...as yet I haven't accomplished your level of work when it comes to machine quilting.

Trust me, just jumping in and doing it does wonders ;). I try to push myself and my abilities and it just tends to work out!

It's a 9" finished block. I used this method and posted a corresponding tutorial. You are more than welcome to check it out :). http://skippitydodahquilts.blogspot....-tutorial.html

If you check out the first page, about halfway down, I posted a picture of what it looks like and kinda explained it a little better :).
