That is stunning! I love it. You have inspired me to give that pattern a try. Thanks for sharing.

You should try a bargello for sure. They're thankfully one of those patterns that look way more difficult than they actually are. Most important thing is to really pay attention to which end you're supposed to start sewing from and which way to press your seams.

Wow Rachel ! That is an awesome quilt that you made! Love the fabrics/layout! I have a bargello on my list of projects to do also! I really like this pattern that you chose to do. I have not made up my mind as to which pattern I want to try first. Decisions, decisions.

I think the colors are perfect. What is the name of the book that is something I'm going to do myself this year I did a color splash and it was fun.

The book is "Twist and Turn Bargello Quilts" by Eileen Wright. It's a good book, has great instructions (except for the mitered corners instructions, not so great) and several patterns that I'm likely to make in the future.

Still having some trouble with wavy borders, and these borders needed mitered corners so there was another challenge, but in the end it wasn't a total disaster so I consider it a success. :)

I challenged myself to do more free motion than a meandering stipple so on the main part I did vines with leaves. The small border has a lace like pattern and the outside has a simple string of flowers. I'm proud that I made myself step out of my "safe zone" and try something different. Sorry about the flash on that picture. My pictures were coming out with a weird blue hue so I used the flash. I didn't remember until I was back inside that I had my white balance set on "inside".

On to the next project!

Wow that is gorgeous.
