the first time for a wonky braid (my own idea)! Guess I needed a break from all the piecing so took up the challenge of doing this Orange Peel block. Couldn't wait to try my hand at it and it sure is challenging! Love applique but have done so little of it. Drew my own pattern; they're 2" blocks. Pattern is included if you'd like it.

The wonky braid was most fun and the only rule is "make sure nothing lines up right!" Don't you love it? Hope you'll try my mini and post pics for all to see. Thanks for looking!

I had four small pieces of the braid left over along with four extra leaves so what do you do with the leftovers? You make another mini of course! This one is 3.75" by 5".

I always love your minis!! I too try to not repeat a fabric if possible.

When you post your minis if you like you can add each thread to the Mini virtual section. I have added the two I saw this morning. I left it so authors can add to the section when they create a new thread.

N2, your minis are so darling & cute. Love the last one with the black & background scrapy's. I have to get inspired to make some of these. Yes, the last one, or the 3x5, I'll probably make into a cosmetic bag or purse and yes I do have great fun just doing my own designs I make up and not being so "matchy, matchy" all the time. so I did a tight braid and a few loose ones - more fun that way!! Yea, those Quilt Police are always checking to point out something they see as seamy hahahah , but it's ok, us amateurs are ALWAYS one step ahead of them!!!! We sure could teach them a thing or two!!
