This is a picture of my quilt called Super Nova. John Flynn taught a class on March 28, 2010. I had never attempted curves or Y seams. I can see all my mistakes, but I am just SO happy that it is done and looks really neat.

Beautiful quilt. You're the only one that sees a mistake. We see beauty. I'd love to do something like that.

Ditto, and your son is pretty handsome, too. Looks like one of my grandsons, and just about as thrilled.

craftybear 04-08-2010 05:37 PM

where did you take your class?

alaskasunshine 04-08-2010 05:38 PM

I can't believe this is your first curved piecing, it is spectacular!

He was the speaker at our Quilt Show this year in Decatur, Illinois, and he agreed to stay over for a day and teach this class for us.
He is a great teacher, and his kits are amazing.

With His laser cut kits. You could do it with no problems. They even cut your fabric for your own patterns. That is what I will do next time.

No, I was able to practice on his frame with his help and it was fun, but I am soooo not ready to try quilting yet. I am still learning to just piece the tops.
