Thank you. I'm blushing from everyones kind words. Ok, off the top of my head the symbols mean... The bear is symbolic of motherhood and feminimity, the raven is healing and protection, Lizards represtent conservation and dreaming, The circular design that looks a little like a face is called Tawa Kachina and is a Hopi symbol for the sun. Um... handprint is for the acheivemets of man and the thunderbird is for truth and honesty. I can't remember any more at the moment, but that's some of them. Were there any symbols in particular you wanted to know about? |
I would never have known it was your first. Great job!
I think you did a great job!
That is a beautiful quilt. I can't believe it's your first. Wonderful job and thanks for sharing.
No one would ever know this is your first quilt. There are no mistakes this is your interruption of the pattern,
Very nice. Can't wait to see your next one!

You have done a magnificent job! It's good that you are preserving your culture through this quilt. It means more than you realize at this time. i like that you designed each block. I think this is a good idea as a quilter. It means that you are expressing what's in your heart and not always using someone else's design. My first quilt was a Queen-size Ohio Star. A friend asked why I chose a pattern with so many pieces. It never occurred to me that this was a lot for a beginner. I hand-pieced and hand-quilted it!! I guess it's good when you choose something and just go for it.

I think you did a great job. I really liked the idea of putting in your own designs that meant something to you.
Very nice! Is this the one where your little helper changed your stitch settings?
I'm just starting my first quilt and am pretty nervous. I am making it for my 15 year old granddaughter and want it to be something she will always remember that I made for her because I love her so much. Joan Z. in Ballwin, Missouri

Готичный - это значит в стиле готов. Готы - это молодежное движение мрачного вида, типа "люблю вампиров".
excuse me: I begin to learn english and very-very bad read |
Elena please don't be ashamed. I'm also not a native speaker and English is still hard for me too. Last I use the word shrimp instead of shrink and I always have misspelled words in my topics. But all the boardmembers here are helping me out with my English writing so please keep writing and joining us. On this board are members all over the world and someone from the Russian Federation(Российская Федерация) from one of the biggest cities(Новосибирск)is also more then welcome to join.
You shall see that you make great quiltfriends here. See you soon my friend(друг :) Do you now what Elena means in Greece? It's means the Greek one. |
