OK, so thisis my first time posting a picture as well, so I hope it comes out ok!

This is the first quilt I have ever made, and what an adventure it has been! I am now best friends with my thread ripper!

I am very pleased with this. I appliqued and designed all the pictures myself, I am part Native American so I wanted to make something that would show how proud I am of my heritage, but living in the UK I have probably mixed up my designs something rotten! Never mind, I like it.

Also it is not as wrinkly as that picture makes it look. The picture was taken outside in the garden as we don't have enough room in the house (It's a king size, I think I was a bit too ambitious  ). I had to take the photo from an upstairs window while someone held it up for me, it was too big for the grass! The wrinkles are actually shadows from the trees!

Let me know what you think! I would adore any feedback including constructive criticism, this is my first so I am happy to learn. :D

Oh my gosh - that is great. My first quilt was just squares - and not very good ones at that :)

Very nice! My applique skills are less to be desired, so I'm very impressed with yours.

Very nice-can't even tell it is a first quilt!

grammyp 07-10-2010 04:44 AM

Welcome, and what a great quilt. I would think you gained a great deal of confidence now. I'm afraid I have nothing to offer, since my applique skills are quite limited. But if you can tackle a project that big for your first quilt, you can do anything.

MinnieKat 07-10-2010 04:45 AM

Wow! I'm very impressed for it being your first quilt. Lovely!

Sandi19 07-10-2010 04:47 AM

I'm really impressed, especially for a first quilt! You were extremely ambitious to do applique, new designs, and a huge quilt...wow! It's "brilliant", as they say in the UK.

What a beautiful first quilt. Hope I can do nearly as good a job as you. That was quite ambitious for a 'first' project. Well done. Nowhere to go but up from here.

For a first quilt, you did a great job! I love the colors and designs in each block. My first quilt was squares and borders, I admire your bravery.

You've given me hope that I can at least do a block quilt

mollymct 07-10-2010 03:42 PM

Your first quilt was king sized? Gasp! I think it is wonderful. The appliqued designs are really neat. I'm working on my first quilt, but it is tiny! We have a mutual friend in the thread ripper!

tweetee 07-10-2010 03:50 PM
