You did a doggone GREAT job...seriously!
I think that you did a great job!
It's just lovely....it has so many special quilting milestones within it....a really great first. You completed a really great little quilt, and learned so many things which will reflect in your next piece.
You are off to a great start. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.
I love your fabrics. I'm glad you didn't quit when you ran into challenges. Overcoming challenges is a great part of learning a new skill. Keep up the good work. :):):)
You did a good job with this.
I love your table topper! The fabrics are fantastic together.
I can't see anything wrong with it! In fact I think that it is a superb piece of work. I am guessing that it is a first piece and really you did great for a first piece, quilting, binding and all. The piece in the binding just makes it 'yours' and no one is going to say it isn't. Should it go for a 'walk' it will be easier to identify as being yours. Most quilters do make a 'mistake' or two to personalise their quilts. It is great to see someone who is just beginning, taking the plunge and trying something new - all in one go! (patchwork piecing through tutorials, quilting by machine, then binding and problem solving). It is something I am going to try and learn - just get on in there and do it! Thank you for the inspiration and welcome to the board! :)

I think it's fantastic and will bring you "sunshine" in your cubicle...... also de-stress you. Enjoy!
Wow, I think that you have great eye for colour choices, a wonderful first project, and a most pleasing quilt, well done.
It looks wonderful!!! You are now a quilter!!!! I hope you continue...make a few more desk placemats for co-workers for pratcie and then a nice laptop for yourself...

Looks pretty good to me
Very cute, don't tell that story and no one will ever know!
Love the 'table topper' and the gorgeous fabrics you have used.
We do what we gotta do sometimes, and I've done exactly the same on the binding. Love the colors and pattern
and good job on the quilting and piecing. Keep up the good work. |
You guys have made me so happy! Thank you so much! I am now working on a quilt for my MIL that I will present to her during Spring Break when I visit her in New Hampshire. I started one a few years ago when I first tried quilting and I never finished it and gave up on quilting altogether. It was the first time I'd ever touched a sewing machine and I didn't know anything about cutting, measuring, oh, it was the worst. But within the last year, before I even attempted to start again, I watched tons of videos, read tons of books in the library, visited a sewing shop (there isn't a quilt shop right near me) and I got a lot of the questions answered. You have renewed my confidence! Thank you so much for your support!

Nicely done:)
Great job!
Great job. You can always add borders to a top that is too small and then it becomes a lap quilt. Have done it many times.
I love the colors and pattern, and the grid quilting sets it off perfectly. What a great addition to your cubicle!
Great job! Love your table topper-the colors are so pretty. Your binding makes your topper unique.
Beautiful. Don't point put mistakes to anyone. Who would know? You learned so much and that's the important thing.
It is so pretty and colorful. I love it.

For your first quilt, this is excellent. GREAT job. Not even the dogs liked my first quilt, they chewed it up.

Very nicely done!

what a beautiful, bright, happy and crisp looking quilt
good job...so pretty..
first off, i love the colors you chose. secondly and probably most importantly i LOVE your attitude about it! i think it came together fine! i learned a lesson about rotary blades not long ago; my lqs quilting mentor told me i sure go thru alot of blades; do you know if you torque them down tight they wear out way faster? i only put mine barely finger tight now and although i do have to retighten it once in a while they last SO MUCH LONGER now! thought i would pass that along just in case you or anyone else didn't know. give it a try!

very pretty. great fabric
