I think it looks fabulous! Wish mine looked that good.
great 1st attempt
looks good :) congrats on trying, so many people are afraid to try it.
I think you did pretty darn good for your first try and there is visible improvement. Kudos to you for posting the pics and giving us inspiration. My first attempts at FMQ spirals looked very much the same!
WOW pretty daring for a first try. Keep it up
Good job.
NICE JOB!

When you have your quilt sandwich pinned together or tacked together every four inches, you can start anywhere you want. If there is excess in a block, you keep it in that block. I like to start on the sides to that I can then cut away excess batting and backing. I need it to hold on to while quilting the edges.
I love free motion. You should be very proud of yours. It is definitely practice, practice, practice. |

Try machine, because I do not hand out large areas ... only tiny! |

Thank you all very much!!!
I will continue trying to improve with the next! |
You did great! You can already see improvement from the first section to the last. Just think how much you will improve when you're done with the other ones.
You're on your way to conquering it!
Nice job! |
Your doing great, the hardest step is the first one, now you are off n running
It looks wonderful! Keep up the good work!
Your first attempt is great. Don't give up, keep practicing.
Just keep practicing.

Great job!!!
Great job!!!! Really love it!
Very nice job!
Looks great, especially for a first attempt! Isn't it just FUN to do FMQing?
Someone gave me some great advice once about where to start; she said, "start in the lower right quadrant of your quilt because the eye travels there last and people are less likely to notice imperfections there." I've been doing it that way ever since. Love our quilt. |
You are doing a great job. I know what you mean about starting in the center! Even when I practice on a sample first, my stitching is not its best in the centers of my quilts. We will keep practicing and we will get better. Everyone says that it just takes practice, practice, practice, and more practice! Good job. I love the quilting design you chose.
Maybe I'm weird, but I like the look of it. It says to me "hand done- not machined perfection" and I like that kind of folk art idea. Any factory can turn out picture perfect quilts, but only we can create our unique works. So even our practice pieces are okay!
Also love your fabrics and contempo design. Keep on keepin on! |
you improved quite quickly.
Looks great!
You did a great job.
You are off to a great start! Wonderful:-)
