I have never hand quilted before in all my life. WOW! It was a LOT harder than I thought it would be. I watched a few You Tube videos and tried to move my hands the way they did in the videos. You know, for a first timer, it's not so bad. The stitches aren't all that straight or even but I'm pleased with my first attempt. I'm sure I'll get better with more practice. :)

they look good to me. i never did 12 to an inch myself. i just put an old quilt on my bed that i'd done hand quilting in the border on. not too bad stitching on that one. but i did a morning glory wall quilt with a bit larger stitches. i love both of them.

As they say=practice,practice, and more practice makes perfect. Wait and see keep that piece date it, and put it away and pull it out next year this time and see what you have done since then. It will amaze you when you see how you hace improved.

After you get your stitch length even, you will be able to gradually get to smaller stitches. Don't get discouraged because you will be surprised at how soon you'll look like an expert !

Good for you!! What are you working on? I've been practicing handstitching on a practice piece, but I"m getting bored with that. I think I need a project and I'll just have to be happy with whatever I can do!

try one (1) Sun bonnet sue it gives the large curves and then the small valleys, just do one. then proceed to a smaller curves and deeper valley and then try a point. Do forget to clip your valley just a little. (Scant 1/3").
