Your quilting is very good also. You will not need much practice. It looks like you have it down pretty good.

I agree!

That is excellent for a first quilt. I think you have a knack for free motion. Keep it up!

You did so well. Great job!!!

Moke09 07-22-2010 05:46 AM

Congrats. It is gorgeous. I am still working at mine. Started a class in Feb and managed a cushion and that took 3 weeks. This time I swore I would do anything other than a quilt but the others eventually coaxed me as theirs looked great and I felt lazy doing crochet and knitting. It's for my 1st grand daughter and I am afraid I have started something. What if there are more!!! Sounds like I will be quilting for ever.

Thanks very much for all the kind comments! :) I had a lot of fun putting it together.

The weather took a turn for the better today, so I was able to get it washed and dried - thankfully, it came through it all without any problems! :)

Patched 07-23-2010 06:54 AM

Good job, especially for a first quilt. Piecing quilts if the best "BUG" you can catch.

Kellie G 07-23-2010 10:08 AM

Very nice job on your first quilt. Your quilting looks fantastic. I had to practice, practice, practice, then I still did a horrible job on my first FMQ. You should be very proud.

arpdesigns28 07-23-2010 10:17 AM

It looks great for your first quilt. And yes, once the first quilt is done, you most likely do have the quilter's bug. ;0) I am relatively new to the hobby, but have found myself making quilt after quilt. And, increasing speed and moving a bit slower for consistent stitching length is what you need to do. I figured that out while sandwiching and stitching a quilt I'm working on right now. Keep quilting!!
