You put all of us to shame! I tried that sucker when I first started quilting 25+ yrs ago and it ended up in the trash. Would be much easier paper pieced. Having said that YOU GO GIRL!

Great job all the way around! Most patterns you pick after this one will be a piece of cake! I can't believe it's your first. I guess you are a natural born quilter :)

What a brave person you are! I've been quilting for years and I still stay away from diamond shapes. Reminds me of when I first started sewing clothing. I took my Mom's sewing machine home with me one weekend. Bought plaid fabric for a skirt and jacket. Read and followed the pattern, matching the plaid in the side seams and sleeves. When I showed my Mom she couldn't believe I chose plaid fabric and how well it turned out. Sometimes being clueless is the best way to learn and not be paralyzed with fear to try the more difficult patterns.

Very very beautiful..... looks to me like you've mastered those Y seams. It is going to be stunning..... carry on and finish.....I always think that if someone takes all that time to make me a gift, then I must be special. As your sister is to you !!!!!
