My first quilt with inspectors
1 Attachment(s)
This is my first quilt and my first picture post. I just call it my garden quilt. About a year ago,I got the idea that I wanted to make at least one quilt before I die, since I've tried every other craft over the years. I also wanted to do it all by hand. This is the result. It took about 8 months from start to finish. Now, I'm a hardcore quilt addict. I have about 6 more in progress, mostly hand sewing, a couple partly machine stitched.
I know I must be hardcore because I can't get enough stash. Especially the '30's prints. Love looking at everyone's pictures on here. Those are 2 of the inspectors. Patches, the tuxedo cat, and Sam, our spoiled, biggest fur baby. I posted a pic of him in the chit chat section. |
Absolutely beautiful!!! Great job and very nice inspectors!
great quilt!!!!!
Good for you. It is beautiful. Be proud of yourself. Love your inspectors.
Oh so pretty! Love the colors and the border -- and boy oh boy that took a lot of patience with all that hand sewing.
Beautiful quilt. Love your color choices. My first six quilts were all done by hand. They are still holding up well and their is a special place in my heart knowing that each and every stitch was done by hand. Love the inspectors too.
Your quilt is so beautiful! And I am awestruck by doing it by hand...I'd never have the patience. Sam and Patches are gorgeous too and Sam's pics elsewhere were precious.
Well did they like it?
Great quilt!
Love your quilt and inspectors. I think I would like your stash as my favorite fabrics are 20's and 30's! I plan to make a Grandmother's Garden by hand, but have not started it yet. I like how you set them in blocks and used sashing and cornerstones. That's a great idea.
How wonderful. An unusual setting, I have never seen. Love the border too. You made a fabulous first quilt. Keep going!

absolutely beautiful..... welcome to the addiction

Wow! What a beautiful quilt and what skill and perseverance you have doing it by hand! The inspectors are wonderful too! Is that pomaranian? I have a Pom the same color and he is just the greatest!
I love it, bright colorful, and just plain happy. It looks like you have been quilting for years, great job.

Sam , the vet thinks, is part spitz and maybe some collie. But it's only guessing. |
